MegaYachts in the Heart of Barcelona

Superyacht and megayacht berths on the Quays of Marina Port Vell in BarcelonaWorks in Marina Port Vell keep progressing. Last month, Salamanca Marine was pleased to report the reopening of Moll d’Espanya, the marina’s largest quay of 430 m. The photo above is only a glimpse of the scenery Barcelona is going to become accustomed to. Recently, two Lürssen yachts, one of 88 m and one of 124 m were able to moor in the heart of the city’s waterfront and use the facilities.

Norma Trease, the Director of Salamanca Marine reminds us that megayacht marinas require the staff and expertise inherent to attending yachts. In January 2014, Marina Port Vell was pleased to announce the appointment of Captain Anders Pehrson as Dockmaster. Captain Pehrson brings with him direct experience in piloting and managing superyachts for the past 15 years as well as a vital ability to converse in seven languages. His record is impressive. He holds an MCA Master (Y) 3000GT license, is a Ship Security Officer (ISPS SSO), has advanced training in fire-fighting as well as medical first aid, in addition to far reaching experience in leadership. Working since the age of 14, he began his nautical career in 1997 as a Chief Officer on passenger vessels. In 1998, he joined M/Y RENALO as Chief Officer. Since then, he has piloted or served as first officer of the following superyachts: RONDO C, APOGEE, HELIOS2, SALAMAT, ATLANTIC GOOSE, DIANE, and most recently, EMOTION.

Marina Port Vell currently still has a few long term berth leases available for investors and yacht owners. For more information contact the Marina Sales Office on +34 93 484 23 00 or check the berths available on the following link.
