Town: Mandelieu - La Napoule

Up the Siagne river lies Cannes Marina, not to be confused with the Port of Cannes. The marina is in fact not located in Cannes, but in the town of Mandelieu-La-Napoule. The marina can accommodate up to 1730 boats of less than 12 m in length. It does not have berths for visitors. The mooring facilities are only for residents and the berth owners. This is an exclusively private port.

Since the marina is located inland, it is not in the French Public Maritime Domain. Therefore, the berths in Cannes Marina are considered like property. It is possible to buy a berth in the marina and have freehold rights on it, which is rare in this highly popular cruising destination, where usually rights to use berths are always limited in duration and ultimately remain the property of France.

The marina is very well sheltered particularly by the three tall buildings bordering the marina from the West. The port is well isolated from the city on one side by the buildings by the river on the other. In its center, the island of Cannes Marina is also residential offering its inhabitants views on the port’s calm waters.

The port of Cannes Marina is divided into four basins: Basins B and C, located in the most western side of the marina on either side of the port office; and basins A and D where boat berths in the marina and on the Siagne.

Cannes Marina features various little shops and services located near the docks and along the facades of the different buildings. And should you need to stock up with supplies for the duration of your stay, there is a supermarket nearby.

The Siagne is a peaceful little river on which to cruise. The town of Mandelieu-La-Napoule has clearly tried to preserve the vegetation and the scenery along the river. However, be careful. The river is home to many water sport activites such as rowing, and the stream is not marked for navigation. Bear in mind that only boats with a draft inferior to 1.5 m and an air draft under 4 m (due to the river’s bridges) can cruise on the Siagne.

Approaches: The mouth of the Siagne is identifiable thanks to the large white building, the "Royal Casino", located fifty meters port (West) of the river mouth. Beware of the sandbank and shallow water on the Eastern side of the river mouth. Cannes Marina is located half a nautical mile upstream from the mouth of the river, to port, after the railway bridge when the river divides into two branches. Speed is limited to 3 knots on the river.
